I've just had an epiphany, seriously. As you all know, the alpha positions for most of the packs have been taken, excluding Hayden Valley. So, in order to prevent clutter, I've decided not to hold any more auditions for any of the packs besides Hayden Valley. Once an alpha has been chosen for any pack, they have the choice of whoever is alpha male or female, depending on who they would prefer as their mate. The new alpha will not get any special position, and will remain a normal member, other then being listed on the side tables, of course.
The two new alphas will then choose a beta, depending on who they believe would be the most reliable. It's still unknown whether the beta will get any staff powers or not, though it is probable. I ask that all alphas try their best not to choose a staff member as their mate, though if it's needed I'll allow it.
If you have any questions regarding this new change, please PM me. Seriously, it will help others understand even better as I will probably edit this announcement with your question.

The flowers are in full bloom and the forests are bursting with small game. Birds chirp merrily and there is rarely a cloud in the clear blue skies. A salty scent rolls in off the coast while the sun beats down upon the packs. However, dark clouds gather menacingly at the horizon, signalling a coming storm.
Don't look at me like that. I already had the avatar done before I realized her name is Padfoot now. So, ahem. The reason? Because of her unbelieveable support all through the site's making and her enthusiasm in being my right paw. She's no co-admin you guys, she's a full admin right beside me. She darn right deserves this reward. She wrote the boards, did you know? So, you rock Oceh, my epic side-kick.
For his unbelieveable personality and history. When I read the bio, written by his loving owner Shin, I was entranced. It was absolutely superb, and a very good reason as to how he came to Yellowstone. His personality fits brilliantly with how Slough Creek Wolves should behave. So, well, here's to you, Kane!
Hayden Valley Pack
True to their name, the Hayden Valley Wolves are located in a lush channel surrounded by mountains on all sides. Jolly in nature, they have great sense of humors and are truthful beyond compare. They have rather curious natures, and are the pack most prone to change. Having members that are independent, many of their wolves leave the ranks, depending on their belief of what is right.

» Dominant Female - Auditions being held
» Beta - Auditions being held
Slough Creek Pack
Located in a lake very much like their personalities, the Slough Creek Wolves are graceful and undoubtedly beautiful. It takes quite a lot to provoke them, but when that happens, better prepare for a storm. A strong one at that, though it never lasts long and cools down very quickly. They go with the flow and are very easy going, but they're far from push-overs.
» Dominant Male - Kane
» Dominant Female - Ruby
» Beta - None
Druid's Peak Pack
A deep forest to the north of Yellowstone is where the Druid's Peak Wolves call home. Usually with pelts of darker pigments, you could call them the unethical pack of Yellowstone. These are wolves not to be taken lightly; undoubtedly callous and usually unaccepting, it would do you good to avoid them altogether unless you're very confident in your persuasion skills.
» Dominant Male - None
» Dominant Female - Shade
» Beta - None
Agate Pack
Hot headed and stubborn, the Agate Pack are quite the opposite in personalities to their cousins in Slough Creek. Nestled snugly inside the Lake Of Lone Island, they are protected by most intruders by the vast lake. They are passionate about everything they do, and although stone-faced towards outsiders, are willing to accept any wolf who is worthy of entering their ranks.
» Dominant Male - None
» Dominant Female - Guará
» Beta - None
Washakie Pack
Making themselves home in the clearest and purest water sourse in all of Yellowstone, Washakie Pack are unquestionably the most reliable of the packs. Understanding the bond needed between both companions and kin, the Washakie wolves are steady and unshakable in their faith. They will take any wolf in without question, and are fair and just in their judgements.
» Dominant Male - Ghost
» Dominant Female - None
» Beta - None

A waterfall. A fast and rapid river tips over the edge of a mountain, falling down in a show of rain drops. If you look at an angle, you can see a rainbow through the cascading water- making it a beautiful place indeed. Fed by the mist from the fall, the foilage here is vivid and dense; as well as chock-full of prey. Smaller prey are usually scared away by the crashing of the waterfall, but many deer and other creatures gather to satiate their thirst.
A lake holds the water, bordered by a nice stretch of golden sand. Many rocks lie here, usually big enough for a wolf to lie on, and always warm. A beautiful sun-kissed beach - what else could a wolf wish for? But there always is some type of danger... Moderators: jadeeluff!, >> padfoot
An immense valley lies here, bordered by many rocky mountains. The grass here is lush and green, and crawls along smooth slopes in the terrain. The foilage is found in clusters, so there's plenty of places to run wild while still shelter from a storm. Elk herds migrate annually in their hundreds and thousands, giving a delectable feast to any wolf pack. Watch your step however; a well placed kick from an elk's sharp back hooves can leave a wolf knocked senseless.
This area is big enough to support a healthy pack, and various dens can be found in the undergrowth.
The terrain around this canyon is rocky and rough, guaranteeing a few split pads. And then, venture a bit more and you'll find a massive canyon- as if someone came and scooped up a pawful of the ground. This, dear travellers, is what we know as the Canyon Of Flying Vultures. It is possible to get down and explore the depths of the massive fissure, but watch where you place your paws. Some places, fragile by erosion, can lead even the most experienced wolves to their death. If that doesn't kill you, then the moutain lions might. Only come here with a pack- alone will be suicide.
Mice and rabbits are the only ones to adapt sucessfully to the dangerous terrain, and can be found in abundance- if you have a skilled eye. This place can be a generous land if the wolf in question knows what he or she is doing- I wonder why they've called it the Canyon of Flying Vultures, hm? Moderator: Shin
Sunshine dances on the smooth surface of this lake, creating relaxing sight after the rest of the east's dangerous landscape. Wind coaxes the water to lap at the shore in gentle waves, a good place for a drink. Grass here is light and comfortable, acting as a soft cushion for weary travellers. Food is found in all shapes and sizes- from slender herons fishing at the lake's edge, to mighty deer feeding on the foliage, to many a small community of rabbit holes. Any wolf that chooses to stay here is in good hands.
The earth is buoyant, downy and fluffy, easy on the pads if a wolf in question feels the need to create a den. Fallen trees litter the area, their wide crowns provoiding a canopy for any expecting she-wolves giving birth.
Dominant pack: The Slough Creek Pack Moderator: Shin
This is, arguably, Yellowstone's biggest lake. So vast that wolves can't see the other side, this lake is probably the most maginficent ever. Rivers and streams stretch from it, feeding different lakes and lagoons. Fish and other water-logged creatures rule the lake, but most of them are too small to feed on. Like any good water-source, deer gather here in their plenty. Hunting them is a piece of cake - most of them are already worn out from the trip. Other prey here includes water voles and rabbits that inhabit the foilage. Reeds litter the edge of the lake - like cattails, for instance.
The Lake Of Lone Island got its name from the island that sits in the dead center, sheltered from many creatures thanks to the icy water. Fortunately, wolves have it easy - their long, thick coats prevents too much water from getting at their skin and insulates easily, keeping in the heat. And how to get there, you may ask? A while ago, a strong tree fell into the water when it was struck by lightning; it is big enough to give the wolves a headstart, feeling the sunken log and following the decaying bark with their feet. From then on, you will have to swim. Once and a while you'll find stones to support your weight, allowing you a second to breathe and giving your tired muscles a short rest.

It's hard to live here, and this place is rarely spoken of - many wolves dub it simply The Barren Land. A vast expanse of limestone, littered with trecherous gaps that could break a wolf's leg if he didn't watch his step. There is little, if no, foliage, the majority of it being dry weeds. Careful now, because this is grizzly territory. Yes, grizzly bears. Those heavy creatures could snap a wolf's neck in one bite. They dominate the rocky and otherwise dead landscape, sheltering in clusters of forest. I wouldn't go in there, if I were you. For a wolf, there's nothing to seek here. The grass is thin and the rocks are sharp, and the terrain makes bones and muscles ache. Food is virtually non-existent. Any big game that does rarely journey here is nabbed by the grizzlies, and you'll probably be feeding on the malnourished mice that inhabit here, or the bears leftovers.
Your best best is to pass through The Barren Land as fast as your legs can carry you, and into the better lands beyond. Moderator: >> padfoot
You travel down some hills to find this odd fissure in the ground. The soil around it is damp and unnaturally warm, and that intrigues you. But I wouldn't get too close, for every ninty minutes, a jet of hot, powerful water shoots from the earth and towards the sky, hence the name. Wolves call this place Where Water Rushes To The Sky, and has taken many passing wolves to their frightening deaths. The boilng water is heated by the magma that runs deep underground, the magma from the Mountain Of Burning Embers in the east and Ring Of Sleeping Volcanoes in the north. Prey here is small, and you'd better watch your tail. Cougars and kodiak bears wouldn't miss a chance to swipe at a weary passer-by. Moderator: ♦ mythrill
Time seemed to have stood still in this enchanted place, and silence is the greatest power. Even the most rambunctious of wolf cubs will quiet down at the sight of this pond. It is worthy of respect. The whole area seems to have a calm, peaceful aura.
The pond is more beautiful than its southern and eastern breathren; the water is still, dotted here and there with lily pads and fallen leaves. If you look close enough, sillhouettes of beautifully colored fish can be seen darting around the water. At sunset the pond sparkles silver, and at that moment it is said to have healing properties; take a dip if you'd like, it will relieve your worries and soothe your muscles. Cubs that feast on this fish will grow into healthy, hardy wolves.
While you're at it, why don't you settle down for the night? Brambles shroud this small paradise from bulkier intruders, and the dens under the tree roots are very convinent, not to mention warm and comfortable. You might already find some made for you, for this pond has been visited frequently by many generations of wolves.
Dominant Pack: The Washakie Pack Moderator: ♦ mythrill
Nine small volcanoes sit here in a ragged semi-circle, overshadowing the land with their sleeping faces. Wolves who travel here are glad to find that the volcanoes are considereed dormant, even extinct- but like any wolf knows, that's a terrible reason to lower your guard. Slipping on the rocky ground can give you a series of nasty cuts, maybe even a broken leg of some sort. But if you're careful, this can be an ideal place to pratice leaps and other moves.
Imbedded in the rocky walls are some caves, but they aren't exactly comfortable. Yet, they can serve as dens to weary passer-by. Game here is tough, stringy, maybe even inedible, as it consists of snakes, lizards and dear of some sort.
Just take care. Danger isn't always visible to the eye. Moderator: jadeeluff!
Thick and tall fir trees dominate these woods, hence the name. Canopies interlace themselves, giving the forest nice coverage. Although virtually dark inside, sometimes there are patches of golden sunlight, filtering through a flaw in the trees' crowns, and giving the place an unearthly green glow. Fog that shimmers through the woods give the Forest Of Tall Firs a magical feel to it, like you have brushed a whole different world with a single paw swipe. Is there more to this enchanting forest as it seems?
Yes, there is. Wolves that venture the forest come out with full bellies, thanks to the herds of black-tailed deer that choose this area as their home. They aren't particulary strong, and the easy life in the forest has dulled their reflexes - but take care not to startle them, as they are naturally speedy fellows. Working in a pack, however, you'll have a guaranteed feast on your paws.

The Cave Of Abandonment was originally a forbidden mine, run by crooks that escaped as soon as authorities, both Yellowstone and Regional, found them out. Nobody bothered to fix up the mine once the owners were taken away, leaving nature to run it's course.
It cuts far into a mountain, but the deepest parts are blocked off by rockfalls. You can find rusty old carts and rickety rails patching the artificial cave. In some parts, the walls and floors are seemingly ready to collapse at any moment, so tread lightly. Hoards of glittering gems are piled up in different corners, forgotten and now covered by a thin layer of dust.
This may be one of the most dangerous places a wolf can visit. Carelessly left tools are scattered everywhere, some still with sharp edges that could give a wolf a very bad wound, and the mine could cave in on itself at any given moment. Moderator: ` f a o l a n }
This is the coldest mountain in Yellowstone, where rock scrapes the stars and the icy snow never melts. The air becomes thinner as you ascend higher, as well as the heat. Hares are the only source of food you'll find here, but they are well hidden, hiding deep in their burrows for warmth, so you'd better be prepared. Many wolves perish on the mountain in the frigid Winter wind, and even the most organized packs could become chaotic.
Your thick Winter coat will surely keep the heat in, but not for long. This place is famous for its whispering blizzards - ice cold gales that cut through your bones and leave you half- senseless. Moderator: ` f a o l a n }
