“Oh.” She felt him get up, and rock the bin a bit. She did try, but as the bin moved she laid back down quickly. “You’re making me nervous…” She said, watching him look downwards. Trying once more, she managed to sit herself up. Was she stuck now? She had barely made it over here, now how was she supposed to get off of it? She looked to the end of the tunnel rather than up or down.
“If they are gone, could we go back outside?” Now staring longingly, she rested her head on the edge of the bin. The sun would be nice, some air as well. She just hoped for Faolan to come along as well.

Glittering crystals...Faolan smiled at Tryamier and rocked the bin a bit more, but nothing happened. It just swayed and then stopped like normal. If it was about to give out it would've done so two years ago, and he trusted his den now more than ever. He stopped peering over the edge and turned to look at the white wolf who looked like a shadow herself now. She looked uneasy and he felt guilty for making her so nervous, but he reminded himself that she had come along on her own. Nobody had made her, and if she was scared and didn't trust him thatw as her fault. Still, he had to honor and respect her wishes.
"Sure, if you want. I know a few cool places though that you might enjoy seeing if you can spare the sun and the air." He said with a smile, suddenly causing the bucket to rock violently back and forth. It grew higher and higher with every swing, and his eyes glimmered maniacally. Then, when the bucket had reached its highest point he leaped and landed safely on the tunnel floor. Turning to look back at Traymier he grinned darkly and motioned for her to follow if she could. However, he set his stance in case she fell. Because if she did fall, he'd want to catch her. He felt stupid thinking as much, but he knew he couldn't bring harm to the pretty she-wolf.

With that, he swung the bin violently, the jumped. She understood why he had done this; it just took a moment to take it in. Standing up, and sliding back and forth when the crate did the opposite, she stood up and grasped on to the side of it. She knew also that if she waited too long, it would settle down. So she heaved herself up, put her back feet on the side, and pushed off. Sailing through the air, she made it far past the edge, and crash landed.
Coughing up dust, and shaking it off, she stood up quickly. “I’m good.” Then she hacked a couple more times, and trotted up to Faolan. ”Well,” looking up at him with bright eyes, “What did you have in mind?” What could there be to explore down here? The dripping of water off of the pointy ceiling rocks was actually quite soothing. Stretching out, she was happy to be back on to solid ground.

Lead you...
Faolan smiled at Traymier and knew she was instantly in for a surprise. As there were several things she'd enjoy seeing, if she enjoyed beauty as much as her appearance showed. So he hurried off into a brisk trot, not bothering to check to see she was following. If she didn't follow, it was her loss. And he figured that she'd be too afraid of being lost in the caverns to not follow. His mind drifted lazily between May and Traymier, comparing their every detail and anything they shared or opposed in each other. As his paws slid across the rocky, black ground, he compared the dirt of May's pelt to the snow of Traymier's. The green of May's eyes to the blue of Traymier's. The seductive, sweet and gentle personality of May to the bubbly, girly, fun personality of Traymier. And when he really thought about it, his old self would have definitely liked Traymier better. But that was the past, and he had to get his head out of it.
Eventually Faolan's thoughts turned more to his surroundings than anything. He watched the shadows play in strange patterns across the walls, watched the bats' eyes glitter as they followed him and watched the dripping of water from the cave ceiling. He knew most of this water to be tainted with toxic gases in higher or lower chambers that worked its way up, and he always avoided their drops. As he continued he weaved through fallen rocks, leaped piles of wood, and swerved around stray piles of human tools and rust. It may not have been the most charming cave but it was a cavern that lead to true beauty, and he would follow it all the way.
Faolan noticed he was growing nearer to their destination. He slowed and began to feel his way along very carefully, until he found an old pile of wood. He pushed on the wood and it floated away, revealing a otherwise hidden pool of water. He turned and nodded at Traymier. "When you dive in follow me if you can. At the other end of this pool is a hidden cave, there's air at the top but don't breath it in for the first few yards as it's a carbon monoxide pocket. Okay?" He waited to make sure she had gotten all of that. If so, he'd take her to the most beautiful spot in the entire mine. If not, and he figured as much, he'd take her back outside.

Smiling nervously at his own, she paused for a moment watching him fade into the shadows, and then quickly scampered behind. She took a few fast glances behind, and stepped in a puddle of water. Seeing it steam, she quickly skipped on three legs and flicked it off. Shaking her head, she ran quickly to catch up with him. Traymier wondered what he was thinking, it was so quiet. She started to hum quietly, some soft tune she had heard somewhere, though she couldn’t recall where.
Louder now, there was a slight dance in her step. Practically tuning out everything around her, she laughed a bit. Maybe she was acting a bit childish, but this cave needed some joy! She wasn’t so out of it to notice him doing something a piece of wood. Watching curiously, she saw him make show of a pool of water.
His explanation barely lent her refuge. Diving, monoxide? Could she hold her breath for that long? Well, if he could, because she was taking that he had gone to this place before, than she could. “This had better be one spiffy cave.” Lifting what would seem a brow, she waited for him to enter. What could be so extravagant as to go through this? Hold your breath. Hold you breath. She repeated this many times in her head, not quite trusting herself as much as she did Faolan.

And will we ever end up together?
It seemed like the world stood still as Faolan prepared for the dive that was before him. Traymier was obviously about to brave it, as he'd done a thousand times before. His mind flickered back to his discovering the incredible hidden cavern, but he tried to forget about the near-death experience. He leaped with a swift grace that would surprise many for his large build, toward a seemingly thick pile of beams. The rotten wood, however, slipped away from him like butter as he dove, sucking in a breath of air so big one might've thought he'd sucked the whole cave's air away. But he was merely doing as he had done before when he felt alone and in need of a beautiful sight.
As the water enveloped the black wolf, it was almost an incredible sight in its own. The dark water was a thick shadow, and as it sucked him under with a powerful current he created by the power of his legs, it appeared that a wolf of shadow was returning to the shadows of where it had been created. Almost as if by merging these two shadows the cave might seem a little dimmer, a little darker, but instead grew brighter with beauty. It was almost as if without the darkness of Faolan, and the beauty of his dive, a little light spilled into the world. And so as the wolf vanished into the thick shadows of the dark water below, the cavern grew still and everything seemed to go back to the dim world it always knew.
Deep beneath the water, a mysterious current was being worked up. A sucking grabbed poor Faolan and he kicked and propelled as hard as he could. This was the hardest part, avoiding the current that could suck a wolf down to the deepest abyss of the cave. He knew if he went down he'd never come back up, and he felt his heart hammer at the thought of losing Traymier down there. He'd forgotten to warn her, hadn't he? And then as he managed to free himself from the undercurrent and reach the calm water that lasted for the first seven feet of water, his mind flickered swiftly back to the time when he had stumbled upon this pool on accident. Oh, what a time indeed.
Young Faolan eagerly exploring the caves that were his new home, a young wolf with a new love and a new hope for the future. And then suddenly torn away as he was walking. Leaped a pile of wood and landed on a clearer looking spot, which was a pile of wood that floated atop dangerous waters. He had fallen through in a flash and was sucked hard by the current. Every ounce of his strength helped him to free himself from the vicious torrents below, and found himself bobbing up in a mysterious cave. It was there he realized he could not breath, so pushing himself farther forward he found oxygen and relaxed a little. He managed to pull himself onto the shore, which was nothing more than jagged rocks that were broken down into sharp little bits. And then he noticed the one thing that made the cave beautiful...
Faolan shook his head, clearing the memories away as swiftly as they had flooded into his mind. He kicked harder with his leg and rocketed out of the currents of the swirling, pitch-black waters that had nearly drowned him before. He pushed and pulled at the buttery water as strongly as he could, and managed to see the hole in the rock that would take him to the cave. He swam into it and for three feet saw nothing but rock walls all around him. Then he surfaced to the dark cave that he had come to so many times. He began to realize that the beauty of this cave was similar to that beauty of his newfound friend, Traymier. He smiled as he pulled himself onto the familiar, small and sharp rocks, and he sighed as he padded away from the shore to give Traymier a chance to get up. If she had made it that far, and he hoped she had.
No, I think not, it's never to become, for I am not the one...

Growing more and more anxious with each second awaiting, she was to speak before Faolan leaped most beautifully into the murky water. She pondered on this for a moment. He may not have been the most… bliss wolf when they had met, but there was some kindness in there. He hadn’t let her fall to her death at her leap of faith; he had hid her from the rogues he had scented. He hadn’t simply let their paws on her to do the horrible things on their minds…
Shivering, she drew her thoughts away. Faolan had told her to follow him, and that would be quite hard if she waited to long. There was something about him…
Then it was quiet, except for her heavy breathing. The absence of sound was less than comforting, though. Traymier took a large breath, wondering for a moment if there was a possibility of bursting her lungs –and shrugging it off in the face of drowning- and jumped in. It was far in the aesthetics that the dark wolf had pulled off. She straightened out in a fluster of legs, and then began her strokes. Left front paw, back right paw, then the opposite. Swimming was simply built into her brain.
Not thinking about air at the moment, feeling she was getting the hang of swimming, the water began to move to its own desire. Opening her blue eyes for the first time, she could barely make out the shape of Faolan moving in a direction disagreeing with the current. Twisting her neck, she saw the nothingness that she may be pulled into. So she kicked harder, to the extent of her power; her muscles sang for air, but it would not happen. Then she saw the slight light where the other wolf had left, and clawed herself upwards.
When her head emerged, her body followed, and her paws on to the sharp ground. She hopped around, finally finding a smooth place for each foot. Though she knew that the air was gone, she went for a breath and drew nothing. Jaws opened and eyes bulged, she stood there stepping side to side waiting for Faolan to direct her to the nearest breathing space, focused too much on her own life to notice world around her.

Glitter and glow...
Faolan smiled and trotted only two paces forward before drawing in a deep and much-needed breath. His strength restored from the swim, he felt no longer light-headed but very glad to be here, and not alone/ He rarely visited this place anymore, as the memories of his dear old May were too strong here. They'd come so many times and discovered many twists and turns in the caverns, and they had loved this spot most. He had even asked to be her mate here. But something about Traymier wanted him so much to show her this spot. Maybe she could replace the May that had died so many years ago.
Faolan shook his head, figuring the emotions only came from the bad air several steps back. He had to remember that May was dead and Traymier was the present. Getting his head all muddled up in his old mate would only hurt him even more. He hated being hurt, and he figured most wolves did. So why did he put himself through that kind of torment? It was hardly reasonable at all, and he kept reminding himself that May was gone and he'd remain alone forever. But then the thoughts of Traymier flooded into his head... The black wolf shook himself and tried to once again regain his composure. He had to breath and relax.
Faolan turned to make sure Traymier was in the appropriate breathing spot before scrambling up the painfully sharp rocks. In the center of the mound was a hole filled with crystal-clear water. Inside were some dull rocks that were less than colorful now, somewhat clear and unattractive. He turned back to where Traymier was at the base of the mound. "Wait there." He instructed before climbing up higher and vanishing over the other side of the mound. A bit of time passed before there was a click and the pool began to glow. Faolan had found his way down to a strangely shaped stick that caused the pool to glow when flipped one way. It was some sort of strange human contraption.
Faolan hurried up to the pool and flicked it with a paw. As the water rippled the stones glowed brightly, and created ever-changing shapes of bright colors on the walls. There was a ruby red, a vivid blue, a soft green, a dazzling purple, and a hypnotizing array of other colors that moved in the water's constant ripple. Faolan raced down to Traymier and looked around, sighing. "This is where I proposed being May's mate. You're the only other person who knows about it..." Faolan said as he watched the lights play on the walls beautifully. He suddenly felt his heart beat a rhythmic tune as he stood next to Traymier. It was too similar to how he had felt before he had asked May to become his mate. Was he in love again? He certainly hoped so. Suddenly, for the first time in a long time, a large and vivid smile played across his face.
nobody will know

Watching him move, she followed his steps immediately, not even taking notice to the floor any more. Then she sucked in as much air as she could, again, without popping her lungs, and exhaled. Now she could look around. It looked just like another cave, except for the painful floor. Faolan told her to wait where she was, so she sat down. This action was a waste though, and she hopped up with a yelp. Stupid rocks… she thought to herself, and looked up to see Faolan’s tail slip out of sight.
Then she became worried a bit. She wasn’t sure if she could make it back alone. He wouldn’t leave me. Would he? No, no one was so evil as to go to all this trouble just to trap her in a cave. A click let her lower her lids once more, but they opened wide at the walls illuminated with all sorts of colors, mostly unnatural.
Noticing that the black wolf had returned to her side, the grin that had been on her face turned neutral. She wasn’t sure what to say; sorry? Thank you? All that could come out was, “Oh Faolan, it’s just beautiful.” And to her surprise, the wolf smiled. It wasn’t a cheesy grin, or a sly smirk, it was a true smile. Craning her head around to see him clearer, perhaps making sure.
“What are you smiling at?” She asked. It wasn’t worded sharply, but rather teasingly. Her teeth, a bit whiter than the usual, displayed on her own face. The colors of the odd lights must have painted her blank pelt just as it had the walls.

I wish I were a diamond...
Faolan's smile faded, but not like it normally did. It was a slower fade, as if he had contemplated keeping it on. But it was gone too soon, and he looked at Traymier. His face may have been blank, but his eyes twinkled with a strange joy that had not filled them in a long while. He then let a more playful partial smile spread across his face - one that was small, smug, and hardly worth the trouble of displaying. But for Faolan it was something. "Just thinking. I'm a crazy wolf you know. My thoughts are less than interesting." He lied, hoping to cover. Obviously Traymier felt nothing for him like he did for her. The thought forced the smile he wore away rather quickly, and he leaped with great speed and agility back over to the switch. Pushing it back, the lights stopped and the cave grew very dim again.
"Let's go." Faolan said, his voice just as harsh as when he had first met her. He had let love into his heart, and then let realization and common sense take over. It was plain and simple - Traymier didn't love him. She could never love such an ignorant monster. Never. So he merely let himself be reminded that he was cold and cruel for a reason, and that nobody could touch his heart. At least, not anymore. He growled inwardly at the thought of being broken again by yet another female. They seemed to love to break him, didn't they? He shrugged it off, turning and sucking in air before leaping back into the water.
He didn't feel the pull or the tug. He didn't feel the current, or his struggles to free himself. He didn't feel the wood as his head pushed it to the sides and allowed him to move through the parted space. He didn't even feel the cold rush of air as he climbed out of the icy water. All he felt was sadness, a strange kind of sorrow. One tainted by love, sweet and sour all at the same time, broken to bits but still perfectly whole. He merely sat himself down, waiting rather glumly for Traymier to pop up as he thought about his pathetic life, and the fact that even his sorrow stung more painfully now. He had let a girl in and now he was dead inside. Just dead.
then my beauty would make you smile

Let’s go, he had said. But she was having such a good time, why would he want to go? His words were harsh and bitter as before, and she wondered if she had said something to upset him. A splash later, and she was alone. Sighing, and then taking a gulp of air, she followed behind him. It wasn’t as bad as before as she knew what to expect, the forceful current and the approximate time she’d have to go without air, and she rose quickly through the hole and flew out to land beside him, wrong end forward.
As her legs quivered, she laid down quickly and looked to the stone ground, neck arched. She may have been soaking, she may have been freezing cold, but she was entirely focused on Faolan. One wolf could not be so cold, so unhappy. She had had such a perfect life; all of the perks of an alpha’s daughter, a beautiful pelt and so had both a cheery interior and out. If only she could share it.
“Faolan, please don’t be so unhappy…” her eyes shimmered, but she still continued. “…I don’t think I could stand it much longer.” Thinking back to her and his past events, she said “I am in your debt, wolf. It would be rude of me not help you.” Twisting her head to look backwards, “I want to help you.”

The currents of that dark water...
It was now plain to see that Traymier was only here to help Faolan find joy again. Well, for a moment she had. It had been more happiness than he had felt in a long time. So what was her problem now? She hated to see him sad? He could hardly keep from laughing, but it would've been cold and cruel - lacking the smile he had so briefly worn. She had messed with his heart and made him see a brighter future. In these dark, desolate caves there was no brighter future than anything already come to pass. He sighed and stood, shaking the droplets of water off his midnight fur before turning to face Traymier.
He looked at Traymier in silence for what seemed an eternity. She was certainly the most beautiful wolf he had ever seen. May had been a strange mud-brown and not nearly as beautiful. Traymier had all looks for her, snowy white fur and the bluest of eyes. That was exceptionally rare. But she also had a big heart. Her kindness was inviting and could make any guy feel special. Well, almost any guy. But Faolan was a nut that was too tough for the young she-wolf to crack. He had an inner sadness that was beyond comprehension and beyond comparison.
So mustering up every ounce of courage he had in his dark, stoney heart, he spoke. His voice was somewhat hushed, and tainted with sorrow. Yet it was just mostly dark and despising, something scary and fearsome and strange all the same. "I let you into my home. You became the first friend in years. I thought I felt something for you but I know you couldn't love an old hermit like me." He turned slowly, as if not wanting to, and then began to pad away in silence. It was hard but this time he had to let Traymier go. Or else his whole life would be even more miserable then before.
are turmoils in my own heart now
