Right now, Guará's head was spinning with thoughts.[/blockquote]
It was only a few days since she became Alpha of her pack; right now they were all nestled up in a plateau far away from here, resting and cooling their heels. Many were still mourning, and the pack was falling apart. Just a few hours ago, a mother with three cubs left in search of a better life. Guará hated herself, and everyone around her at that moment; she slunk out, trying to regain control over her mind and cool her temper. A few other wolves planned to leave; Guará heard them talking in hushed whispers as she did her chores. everyone kept on eye on her as if waiting, waiting, waiting... for me to either explode or mess up, Guará thought bitterly, coming to a stop and taking in her surroundings. It was just a plain field here, but she could smell water far up ahead. Her long, dark limbs carried her a few steps, as she raised her head. It was water, alright. Breaking into a trot, she weaved through the bristly, yellowing, stiff weeds that bordered the lakeside. She could feel the soil turn softer even through the foilage, and her anger started to vanish as her eyes met the lake. The water, a cool blue, rippled gently with the ocassional breeze, and songs of crickets and frogs were in the air. Dragonflies buzzed around, skimming the azure surface, their wings a blur against the pale sky. Sure, it was overcast, but Guará hadn't felt that happy in weeks! The Lake Of Lone Island. She had heard of it before- no wolf was ever able to acess it, so for all Guará knew, she could be the first wolf to set paw on it for a long time. Her eyes sparkled at this thought- but now how to get there? Bounding down to the lakeside, Guará dipped a paw in, but it was way too deep- even for her. The maned wolf's brow furrowed at this, but she was determined all the same. Weaving through the grass again, she scanned the blue water for any sign of a bridge of some sorts. She enough, there was- I mean, she saw the ends of some soggy tree roots peeking out
